One in five struggle with literacy! Join us for our 3rd Annual 1in5k Dyslexia Dash at Freestone Park in Gilbert for a family-friendly fun run dedicated to raising awareness, building community, and championing literacy for all!

Event Highlights

Nominate a Teacher: Form a team of 30 and nominate a teacher for a $300 dyslexia training reimbursement scholarship. This scholarship helps equip educators with the skills to identify and support struggling readers and improve literacy outcomes. Your nomination has the power to profoundly impact students of all reading abilities in classrooms for years to come!

Race Day Information

  • Race Day Check In and Registration will be available beginning at your assigned arrival time.

    • We accept cash, check, and credit card on race day.  Race day prices are:

      • 5K - $40

      • Kids Dash (100 yard) - $20

    • All shirts sizes may not be available on race day (please register online before race day to guarantee your shirt size choice).

  • Wheelchair, stroller, and leashed pet friendly event.

    • All wheelchairs, stollers, and leashed pets must start at the back of the start line coral.

      • All participants are chipped time, so your time will not be affected by starting at the back of the coral.  Your  time will not start until you cross the start line.

  • The course will take you along the dedicated running trails in and around Freestone Park (a mixture of packed dirt and asphalt/concrete surfaces).  Please note - this is an open use trail system and does not close for our event.

  • Due to the common start/finish line there will be no bag check for this event.

  • September 27th 3:00PM - Packet Pick-Up at Pathways School and Evaluation from 3:00 - 6:00pm

  • September 28th 6:30AM - Race Day Packet Pickup & Registration beginning at 6:30am at Freestone Park

  • September 28th 7:30AM - 5K Run Begins

  • September 28th 7:40AM - Kids Dash Begins

  • September 28th 8:30AM - 5K Awards Ceremony Begins (approx).
